If you've been with me for a really long time, and there will be less than 50 people who were my fans at this point, you might remember that this song was originally slated for release on With Love From Where You're Not. I wasn't quite happy with it, though, and I pulled it from the album (but this did give Away a chance to be written, so I guess it's not all bad). I spent over a year changing, rewriting, reworking and remixing it, trying to get it ready for Light And Colour. I realised one day that the phase of my musical career that it represented was past and that it would no longer fit on one of my albums, so I shelved it and didn't include it on Light And Colour. I've long since lost the motivation to try and improve it any further so I present it as another demo. The song itself describes a conversation I'd like to have with certain friends of mine who, despite all my efforts, resist the truth of Christ that I attempt to tell them about. This is my prayer for those friends, and it is my earnest desire that one day they will find the joy that comes from new life as a Christian.
I think it's time for us to talk
'Cause there's something on my mind
I know you've gotta change your life
And you're running out of time
And all I want is just to set you free
But I can't be the one to make this right
So I'll keep praying you start hearing me
You just don't seem to understand
How you're living under grace
And though you laugh at me today
It's something you've gotta face
I know they say I've lost my mind
'Cause I've heard it said before
But now it's time to make a choice
What are you living for?
