Please note: It's no longer economic for me to post these, hence the price. I'd rather people buy the digital version as it's more profitable and easier for me! If, however, you would like a real piece of original merchandise, this may be something for you.

A real CD you can excitedly tear open in the mail and throw into your car's CD player. Pump out that Summertime's End! CD comes in a jewel case with a 4-page insert. Produced by TuneCore Disc Production services.

For the moment, I'm doing all distribution myself, so I will sign the back of the insert for you and write you a little thank-you note (or personalise it with some message of your choosing if it's for someone else). Just let me know in the message-to-buyer section if you'd like anything special written (or nothing written - i.e. a 'clean' CD insert). I hope this makes up for the inflated pricing due to the fact that I'm in Australia. I promise it's the cheapest shipping I could get! (And Australia Post recently increased their prices if you're wondering why it's not what I announced it as originally.) Please remember that I cannot control what goes missing in the mail and if a CD doesn't arrive, it wasn't my fault!

Owl City was again a big inspiration for this song. I was in love with On the Wing and Designer Skyline for their beautiful electronic textures, dreamy lyrics and fuzzy synth sounds. I wanted a song like this, but I wanted it to be on the more meaningful side as far as lyrics go; in my opinion, those two Owl City songs sit squarely at the poetic end of the scale. I generally prefer meaning over poetry in my lyrics, so that's what I aimed for. I originally wrote the opening synth melody (up to 0:19) and had it lying there for months, not knowing what else to do with it. The idea I finally stumbled upon was to write about Hayley's conversion (before we were dating) to Christianity, which did happen in July of 2009 (and yes, July in Australia is cold). I had been away in the UK at that time, hence the long-distance theme of the song. Other than that, the lyrics detail her step in faith into a new life, and the optimism that comes with life in Christ.

Up high on a mountainside
She softly dreams
Breathing the sky
Wondering why
She feels alive

And every day she thinks of me
And how things are
Different now
Knowing somehow
That something's changed inside

So breaking free she says goodbye
Beneath a cold day in July
And leaves the life she knew behind
To be a witness to the world
To be a different kind of girl
And prove her clouds are only grey
Because they're silverlined

She blows a kiss into the breeze
And somehow all these
Miles away
Miles away
I can feel her right beside me

And when I hold her hand once more
I'll remind her to stay
Ever the same
Never afraid
To make Him proud

I know someday we'll meet again
When the skyline glows the way it used to glow
But until then let's change this world
And don't ever let Him go
