    You own this

You've all heard the album version of Weather - but long before I made that, this was my first ever song. Hidden away on my iPod under a artist name that was not my own so nobody else would find it. Little did I know what God had in store for the next few years! Summertime's End eventually became my biggest hobby and a huge part of who I was. My music improved, too, and songs like this were left far behind me as I got better and better.

This will always be the very first song I ever wrote, however, and I now present it to you - a snapshot of my musical past. (And how I sing without Melodyne. Don't cringe too much.)

Don’t want to look out the window today
‘Cause I know what I’m going to see
The rain is falling, the wind is calling
And I feel it blowing inside me

I shut the window, I close the door
But here it’s still so very cold
I’ve tried so hard to forget, not to hold on to regret
But why’s regret so nice to hold

Things started changing, outside it started raining
And I’m sorry I did wrong
(Rain falls, the past calls, the things I did wrong)
I know that I hurt you, didn’t mean to make it worse for you
But lift your eyes and move on
(Gotta let go ‘cause I know it’s time to move on)

So when it rains, look through the clouds and see
The sun still shining, despite the weather
The same sun that shone on you and me
On all those days we spent together
So don’t think we’re a bad memory
Though today it’s colder than ever
And just remember who we used to be
The sun will shine on us forever

I pick up the photo album, turn the pages
And I try to find where it went wrong
Summer sky and bubble tea, just loving your company
Serenades with all our favourite songs

But then things start changing, life started rearranging
Where did the happy ending go?
Fights only left us bruised, had we just been confused?
For the first time, I didn’t know

When it rains look through
Was it me or you?
Though you’re far you’ll see
You’re still close to me
